(part of the Competition Freeride Series that also features the Odyssey, Venture, Charger and Magnum)
Price Range: $340.00 MSRP blank with fin to $670.00 with double Animal boots.
Lengths: 63”, 65”, 67”, 69”, 71”
Notable Features: The Burner, like all slaloms in the Comp/Freeride Series, is basically a 1-inch wider version of HO’s high-end slaloms, the CDX and Phantom, with a shaped, inside radius at the tail. The bevel design is identical as is the edge-to-edge concave. For 2002, a ”power V” has been added to the bottom from between the heel of the back foot to just back from the tip of the ski. This design enhancement creates better turn initiation, aids in holding angle through the wakes and increases overall stability. Also new for 2002 is a thinner side profile and a turned-down rail at the rear of the ski. These features offer a more secure ride in a hard turn or rough water.
Best Suited For: All Comp/Freeride Slaloms are designed for the skier seeking high performance without all the hard work associated with conventional slaloms. Some of HO’s team skiers are even training on these skis in the off-season at a slightly reduced speed and are having amazing shortline success.
