Out of the box, the Connelly F1 is unlike any other high-end ski on the market. This ski creates remarkable angle and carries out wide in front of the ball when ridden correctly. Skiers striving to ski with the latest new-school techniques will feel at home on the F1. With exaggerated counter-rotation at the ball line and eyes down course, this ski turns fast and exactly when you want it to.
Off the ball, the F1 requires more physical strength than other skis tested. This is because the ski rides deeper in the water. For an aggressive and physical skier, this should not be an issue. The extra energy exerted from the ball to the wake is repaid from the second wake to the next ball as the ski gets extra wide in front of the buoy.
Those with less consistent technique may struggle with the F1's demanding personality. It is a very high-performance slalom ski with a small sweet spot. This is the ski for an aggressive and technical skier.

“The Connelly ski is a very stable performer; the ski handles a variety of water conditions well. The ski is not upset with rougher water or wind.” — Dwight Woodbridge
“I think the ski has a smaller sweet spot. This ski would force me to concentrate on being very quiet on the ski.” — Chuck Dickey
“The ski finishes the turns well and really comes around very quickly and snappy. It does not have as much of a long, continuous or smooth turn. This is obviously a performance ski, as this bad boy has two edges, left and right. This ski was truly confidence- inspiring for me on my offside.” — Ryan Selsor
