Ski Review: Fisher Skis #01

Unlike anything else on the market, the Fisher #01 is available in three custom flex profiles, is built in Austria with next-generation composite technology and is sold exclusively through pro skier Jodi Fisher.

Crisp, smooth turns followed by rocket ship acceleration are the first things skiers notice about the Fisher. It requires very little skier effort to generate its substantial cross course speed. Fantastic wake crossings and nearly automatic edge changes are followed by wide, arcing pre-turns. For a skier with neutral weight distribution, the Fisher will carve back to the center of the course and establish massive amounts of angle. Although it is best suited for a skier with a quiet style and unhurried turns, this ski is relatively kind to a variety of skiing styles.

The trade-off for the Fisher's extreme performance is a smaller sweet spot and less overall forgiveness. Skiers on the softer flex versions will find a larger sweet spot. For many, the ski's gross speed and overall performance far outweigh its moderate level of forgiveness.

“This ski will advance you to your next line length. The cast out is unmatched; it got me wider than I have ever been.” — Tim Holloway

“The speed across the wakes and the notable angle you get from the turns is remarkable. The only factor of the ski that makes me a tiny bit uneasy is the lack of forgiveness. Still, this is a trade-off I would be more than willing to give.” — Hannah Fielding

“The Fisher could take me to another level. The #01 is an incredible ski for skiers who desire speed and smoothness.”
Chris Carter
