Was excited to see reviews of the latest skis… but lets be honest, these are just sales pitches from team riders. Still a good article, but next time how about a little truth in advertising.
Hi Sean, I'm not a team rider. I do however ski on the A-1 Syndicate, and can tell you it is the best ski that I've ever skied on, and it has brought my skiing to another level. I was on the Connelly F-1 previously, and found it much less forgiving. You should always test a ski before purchasing it, and most reputable ski shops and marinas would be more than happy to let you Demo a ski before you purchase it.
Is a $2500 waterski really going to help the average Joe? Why not review some of the less expensive, but good skies?
Perhaps O'Brien combos would be best suited for you? Any mid-range ski works for the recreational skier.

If you're a recreational slalom-only skier, there's no need to buy the unneeded ski that comes in the combo. I ski a Connelly Concept, and it's one of the most forgiving I've ever skied on. I've taught people how to ski on it and run courses with it, so it literally satisfies everyone from beginners to veterans. O'Brien also has the Mission, which is also a great yet affordable ski for the everyday Joe.
Based on all of the ads, it looks loke Waterski mag is owned by Malibu? When Mastercraft got lean, Waterski dropped them like a hot potato!
I agree. Malibu does seem to get an aweful lot of coverage compared to MC & Nautique. What's up with that WS Mag?
They do seem to favor Malibu. But I have to say I own a Malibu. I test drove the Mastercraft and skied behind both. Very similar from a skiing point of view but the Malibu drove much better.
How about the Razor? Is anyone testing it?
