As the current women’s world slalom record holder, Regina Jaquess continues to push her limits in the slalom course, and is continually looking for a competitive edge. See what she has to say about the Black Widow Eagle vest.
WATERSKI: Why are Eagle vest superior to other brands for skiing your best?
Regina Jaquess: Eagle vest are superior to the other brands for a number of reasons. They are the lightest-vest made, and they don’t retain water by the end of the season. The quality of Eagle vest far out exceeds any because it is hand made in the USA. Superior comfort and fit makes skiing with your wearing the vest.
With numerous style options, what’s your favorite Eagle vest?
My favorite Eagle vest would have to be the Back Widow. The first Eagle vest I tried was the Black Widow and it was in the tournament that I ran 1¼ at 41 off and 1½ at 41 to break the world slalom record. With the many different style options and the ability to design your own Eagle vest, I look forward to the new 2012 collection.
Describe the craziest fall you’ve endured in the course this season?
I do tend to crash a few times in a season. This year the craziest crash I had was going out the front at 41 off from 2 to 3 ball. Good thing I had the Eagle vest to protect my ribs, and to float me while I was trying to catch my breath.
What are you working on in practice to up your world-record of 1½ at 41 off?
What I am working on in practice is top secret. If I told you, I would have to kill ya!
