Changes to the Carbon Course for 2000 involve a slightly different lay-up, which changed the flex pattern for a more progressive tail flex. The result is a slightly higher tail rocker, which allows the ski to ride a little deeper in the water. The bevels were also re-tuned and softened. The Carbon Course provides a stable and comfortable ride but has a few standout characteristics that made it a first choice among testers. Its edge profile is thicker than any other high-end ski, which probably explains why its turning radius is larger and slower. It did provide the team with a good edge through the wakes combined with decent acceleration out of the buoy. Connelly's new Stoker Wrap bindings are comfortable and provide great stability and edge control.
