Level: Performance/Advanced
Lengths (In.): 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68
Price range: $469-$559
Test notes: Advanced tester said the KD 6500 reminds him of his KD 7000, but with more forgiveness. Rolls out well into the pre-turn, and the ski gets pretty good acceleration for having a softer flex.
Performance: Offers more forgiveness for the intermediate skier because of the softer flex pattern. Also allows good edge control through the wakes, even if you haven't perfected your body position.
Advanced: The perfect ski for the aggressive open-water skier or the skier in the slalom course skiing into intermediate line lengths. It has a nice roll into the pre-turn. With the softer flex, it doesn't have the same acceleration as the top-of-the-line KD 7000, but it gets the job done.
