WATERSKI MagazineWhen KD went to the drawing board for a new ski mold for 2000, they envisioned a high-end tournament ride like the KD 7000 but with a stiffer lay-up for better cross-course direction. The KD CR7 is the final result. With its new core construction and full graphite wrap, weighing in at 4.25 pounds, it features the same tournament proven bevels that skiers liked from the 1996 KD 7000. The bevels at the front of the ski are sharper so the ski doesn't hunt for an edge and rounder in the tail for sharper turns. This makes the KD CR7 a predictable ride that shortline slalom skiers will enjoy. The CR7, like the 7000, is user friendly and the stock fin setup was well liked among left- and right-foot-forward skiers. It has the same predictable and consistent turning characteristics as the 7000 but with added acceleration.
