OBrien Vision GT - 1

The graphite O'Brien Vision GT was new for 1999 model. It's a competition shaped ski that was designed with a Dual Energy side cut that works with its torsion box construction and, like its cousin the Mapple Siege, it has a piezo vibration damper. It doesn't take a lot of effort to establish angle with the Vision GT, and it rolls out rather nicely in the pre-turn. Overall results of the Vision GT were positive, and although it won't venture into the shortest of line lengths like the Siege, it will benefit the mid-level to tournament-level skier who is looking for performance and forgiveness in a slalom ski.

Test Team Comments:

Doug: Good angle out of the turn combined with moderate acceleration. Had a little trouble with rotation of off-side turn. Tweak: bindings back one hole from stock and fin at stock setting.

Rhoni: Rolled over really well in the pre-turn, but it didn't finish as well as the Siege. Tweak: added one shim from stock and bindings back one hole.

Bret: The Vision required less effort to ride than the Siege. Fairly predictable in the turns, and it has good overall stability. Tweak: stock settings

Brandon: Good pre-turn, but a little sluggish when I wanted to accelerate. Tweak: one shim to the stock setting for the best results.

Todd: Has a nice arc into the turn on both sides of the course. It is also fairly easy to achieve angle behind the boat without a lot of effort from the skier. Tweak: Added one shim to help with rotation in the turn.
