3RD ANNUAL 2009 FANTASY CAMP

In between workouts, massages, great meals and parties, eight skiers from Italy, Switzerland, Germany and the United States make the most of their time with Wade Cox, Thomas Moore and Karina Nowlan. It didn’t take long for everyone to let loose and forget wherever they’d come from. By day two, the campers and pros were like brothers and sisters, as comfortable off the water as they were on it. Campers were having fun and soaking up lessons learned by observing the pros and engaging in one-on-one sessions.

“All the pros were so laid back. It felt like I was skiing back at home with my friends. It’s one big family,” says 20-year-old Dan Talbot. As with the rest of the skiers, the week was the opportunity of a lifetime for Talbot. Skiing behind the best boats at a world-class site with the sport’s best competitors – what could be better? The camp also included focused seminars and Matt Rini, one of the world’s best coaches, did a Q&A session. Pierfrancesco Pantanella from Rome, Italy, was elated the experience lived up to his expectations. “The opportunity to work with that many pros and watch the best skiers in the world compete in a tournament at the end of the week, to be able to sit down with Rini and ask him how to be a better skier, I couldn’t ask for more.”

Couldn’t be there this year? Click here for the technique-changing lessons the campers took away after a week at the world-class training facility of Swiss Ski School in Clermont, Florida.

At the end of the week, campers sat back and watched their favorite MasterCraft pros compete with other top skiiers in the WaterSki Pro Challenge. Here are the final scores:
