“One aspect of my technique that I worked on during the off-season was limiting my movement in the turns. In years past, when I came into the turn I was all over the ski trying to get it to slow down. This caused more separation from the handle when I made my reach. By limiting excessive body movement, I now have better handle control in the turns.
“There are also mental aspects of my skiing that I'm always trying to improve. I'm always trying to have the same confidence and control in tournaments that I have in practice. When I'm skiing at tour stops things happen a lot faster on the water, and at times it feels like I have tunnel vision. I need to work on seeing the full picture when I ski at tournaments.”
