“During my early pro events, I had a tendency to ski tentatively and let up on my pull behind the boat. Besides putting me well out of the top seeds, this also made me incredibly narrow throughout the slalom course. The key to my skiing during the '98 season and in future events is skiing progressively and aggressively.
“To help edge more progressively after the completion of the turn, I think about slowly applying more pressure to my back arm and driving through both wakes. My aggressiveness has gotten better by just skiing in more pro tournaments. Try to attend a few events and watch Andy Mapple and Kris LaPoint, these guys push their intensity level to the limit, while still skiing smooth.”
