Day four of the Moomba Masters was definitely the most entertaining, but it had nothing to do with the skiing.

I woke up to another beautiful Melbourne morning and took my routine trip to the internet café to send a few emails and watch the Orlando Magic game online.

When I turned to leave, I noticed the sun had completely disappeared. Only an hour earlier, I had been sweating like crazy and now the sky had literally turned black and there was no sign of the sun anywhere.

I took off for my hotel but was stopped in my tracks when I saw what appeared to be a snowball crash in front of me. Within seconds, golf ball-sized hail was assaulting the entire city.

I ducked into a restaurant for shelter, and within minutes the streets were flooding as 50 mph winds were tossing branches and debris everywhere.

When the storm hit, Jenna Mielzykski was on the water, having just run 32 off. When the storm cleared, the river was raging with debris. The river was deemed to unsafe to continue as branches, leaves, trash, dead animals and who knows what else had gotten pushed through the storm pipes and flooded straight into the river.

It looked like you could whitewater raft with a dumpster out there — not good. The officials were forced to postpone everything until tomorrow morning. There was city-wide damage but luckily no one was seriously injured.
