Thirty-six athletes won national titles at the 33rd annual Parson’s Roofing Barefoot Water Ski National Championships, which were held July 22-24 at Mystic Lakes in Maize, Kansas.

More than 100 barefoot water skiers — ranging from 9 and under to 80 and older — competed for titles in wake slalom, tricks and jumping during the three-day event. Athletes competing in all three events were eligible for the prestigious overall titles.

The wake slalom event consisted of athletes crossing the boat wake as many times as possible in two 15-second passes (one pass in the forward position and one pass in the backward position). Tricks competitors performed as many tricks as possible in two 15-second passes. Jumpers, who were each allowed three attempts, went for distance while leaping off an 18-inch ramp.

In Open Pro Men, Keith St. Onge swept titles in slalom (19.7 points), tricks (12,450 points), jumping (84 feet) and overall (2,988.4 points). In Open Women, Elaine Heller swept titles in slalom (13.4 points), tricks (3,060 points), jumping (61 feet) and overall (3,000.0 points). In Open Men, A.J. Porreca won jumping (75 feet) and overall (2,954.8 points); Paul Stokes won slalom (15.5 points); and Brian Heeney won tricks (3,800 points). In the Men’s International division, Great Britain’s David Small swept titles in slalom (17.2 points), tricks (9,650 points), jumping (88 feet) and overall (3,000.0 points).

In the Junior divisions, Broderick Meskers swept titles in Boys 1 slalom (6.4 points), tricks (400 points) and overall (2,000.0 points). Brandon Books swept titles in Boys 2 slalom (5.6 points), tricks (700 points) and overall (2,000.0 points). Ryan Jameson won Boys 3 slalom (9.6 points), tricks (1,650 points) and overall (2,604.79 points), while Cody Ebbert won jumping (56.4 points). Alexandria Youngblood won Girls 1 tricks (90 points) and overall (1,000.0 points). Taylor True won Girls 2 slalom (3.3 points) and overall (1,694.4 points), while Jennifer Blake won tricks (360 points). In Girls 3, Sarah Molepske swept titles in slalom (6.0 points), tricks (760 points) and overall (2,000.0 points).

In the Men’s divisions, Cody Heller swept Men 1 titles in slalom (12.6 points), tricks (1,780 points), jumping (85 feet) and overall (3,000.0 points). Derek Koch swept Men 2 titles in slalom (12.0 points), tricks (1,310 points), jumping (33 feet) and overall (3,000.0 points). In Men 3, Jim Youngblood won slalom (12.7 points) and overall (2,965.5 points); Tim True won tricks (1,650 points); and Pat Scippa won jumping (38 feet). In Men 4, Jim Piskura won jumping (43 feet) and overall (2,737.1 points); Michael Molepske won tricks (2,040 points) and Ted Klein won slalom (10.6 points). In Men 5, Jimmy Tauras won tricks (1,410 points), jumping (36 feet) and overall (2,837.6 points), while Joe Knapp won slalom (11.7 points). In Men 6, Alfred Hager won tricks (560 points) and overall (1,619.2 points), while Mike Brisco won slalom (3.2 points). In Men 9, Donald McFeters swept titles in slalom (9.0 points), tricks (725 points) and overall (2,000.0 points). In Men 10, Jim Boyette swept titles in slalom 0.1 points), tricks (270 points) and overall (2,000.0 points).

In the Women’s divisions, Lauren Lindeman won Women 1 slalom (6.6 points) and overall 2,000.0 points), while Allie Jameson won tricks (600 points). Tina McCauley swept titles in Women 2 slalom (1.8 points), tricks (320 points) and overall (2,000.0 points). Betsy Anderson won Women 3 slalom (8.1 points) and overall (1,408.5 points). Jan Cummings swept titles in Women 4 slalom (4.0 points), tricks (430 points) and overall (2,000.0 points). Carol Jackson swept titles in Women 5 slalom (4.1 points), tricks (785 points) and overall (2,000.0 points). Sharon Carlson won Women 7 tricks (650 points) and overall (1,746.7 points), while Judy Myers won Women 7 slalom (2.3 points)
