Let’s take a look behind some of the athletes’ thought processes as they prepare for the 52nd Masters Water Ski Tournament this upcoming weekend in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Mandy Nightingale really focuses on quality over quantity since her training time is limited. She works full time but was able to get last week off and has spent her days polishing up her run so it will shine this weekend.

Ryan Dodd focuses on two key things entering a jump event: 1) he feels complete confidence that taking a large risk will work out in his favor; and 2) having a sense of calmness keeps his heart rate low and mind at ease while on the water.

Chris Rossi treats the Masters like any tournament. He knows he has put in the prep work to do as well as possible for the event. So in turn he trusts his keys to success and enjoys every moment on the water.

Aaron Larkin realizes that it’s easy to get caught up in the pressures of an elite field. For him it is important to block out those thoughts and concentrate on his own performance. When he is focused on that, he sees results.

Chris Parrish maintains a positive attitude and believes in himself for the results!

Freddy Krueger has been to the Masters a lot and knows it’s a tricky place with high energy. For him it’s important that he keep his emotions under control and stays focused on what helps him ski well.

Jamie Beauchesne wants to destroy the slalom field and win a third Masters title. Afterwards, he wants to throw a party but is nervous the prize money won’t cover his big bash.

Whitney McClintock knows the importance of balance. She tries to make practice more intense without over-training, allowing her to go into the weekend feeling fresh and confident.

Thomas Degasperi trains hard but is aware of his abilities and potentials. This gives him confidence that his hard work will pay off and allows him to captivate on the water.
