WARM UP TO WIN
Before I ski an event, I take a five-minute light jog and then start a dynamic warm-up. I hold a 10-pound medicine ball at about a 70-degree angle over my head and do lunges, alternating between each leg. After eight to 10 reps, I face the opposite direction and hold the ball directly in front of me with my arms completely straight. I take a step forward and at the same time swing my arms and the ball to the side. From there, I alternate back and forth with my arm swings and steps. All of this is designed to increase my heart rate and get my body as warm as possible for the tournament. — Chris Parrish, slalom world record holder
