I took a few minutes to catch up with ripper Jon Travers just as he had landed in California for an HO team trip. Jon has been on it this season. After a solid performance at the Moomba Masters in March he got home and started training even harder. He ran 4 at 41 at a record tournament in Santa Rosa Beach, FL and then again at the Masters LCQ which earned him an invite to the 52nd Masters presented by Nautique Boats. Jon went up there and killed it, running 2 at 41 in the prelims and then crushing it again in the finals on Sunday running 4 at 39 to take the win! Jon is on top of his game right now and looking forward to what the rest of the season brings. Let’s take a look inside JT’s head. Here it is: Best & Worst with Jon Travers.

Way to celebrate a pro win?

Best- Hanging out with all your friends and fans. Thanking those that got you there and enjoying every moment!

Worst- Leaving the site and acting too cool for school.

Trip you’ve ever been on?

B- Malaysia had a sick atmosphere and super chill people, awesome place all around.

W- Trip to Chile where all my stuff got stolen, no good.

Thing about photoshoots?

B- Pushing boundaries to get cool shots, skiing close to the photographers and seeing how the photos come out.

W- Skiing a million and a half times a day gets to be tiring.

Groveland, FL life?

B- Doing what I want all the time. Shooting guns and blasting fireworks is never an issue.

W- It’s a solid hour drive to get to Orlando or other fun places.

Pro skiing?

B- Awesome lifestyle, sponsors have my back, and I get to push the sport and hang out with other pro athletes.

W- Doing the tedious things in the background of our sport.

Ski School life?

B- Always surrounded by friends and other people that enjoy life and skiing. Plus, I have an awesome ski lake at my disposal all the time.

W- Pretty hard to get alone time. Christmas isn’t the same when there’s a bunch of other people around. Sometimes I just want to be with my family.

Punching the water post-ski?

B- I get my emotions out, once it’s done it’s done and I can move on.

W- People think it’s negative but it’s my way of dealing with my time on the water. I get it out and move on to the next round.

Toy/gadget you’ve bought?

B- I just bought a 12 gauge shot gun a few weeks back, it’s awesome! We’ve been shooting skeet all the time.

W- That PS3 I got keeps me inside to much, it’s addicting.

Way to die?

B- Quick and painless.

W- Suffering as a vegetable.

Way to spend a million bucks?

B- Invest in a piece of property.

W- Blow it all on useless material things.
