How does a hot Italian water skier stay toasty during Rome’s cold winter and early spring months? Twenty-year-old Silvia Caruso boards a plane to Orlando, Florida, where she has many options for world-class skiing conditions and coaching. Caruso, who placed sixth in tricks at last year’s world championships in Dubna, Russia, says of her favorite event, “I love the rotations and the feeling when you flip.” She was in Orlando last November training with elite trick coach Camilo Espinel, and will be back in March for several weeks to prepare for the Europe and Africa Under 21 Championships held at Lake Grappa in South Africa March 29-April 1.
