You broke the world overall record last summer and since then it as been upped by Natallia Berdnikava. How important is three-event skiing to you and what are your goals moving forward?
When I broke the world overall record it was really special. I broke it in a true overall round at the Pan Am Games, the closest we have to the Olympics. I love overall skiing. For me, I just need to have more daylight and hours in the day to be able to move forward.
What do you tell the young girls who want to follow in your footsteps of becoming a pro water skier?
Skiing is an amazing sport that has so much to offer. Enjoy yourself on the water, and know that it can open up many doors in your life. It’s allowed me to travel the world, earn a pharmacy degree while skiing on a scholarship at ULM, and the money that I’ve won at events has allowed me to open my own pharmacy.
