Female Junior of the Year

There are few sixteen-year-old athletes who are equaling pro-level performances, but Erika Lang from Gilbert, Arizona is doing just that. Besides winning her second consecutive Junior U.S. Open Water Ski trick title in June, she set a pending Girls 3 and Open Women national record of 9,050 in the preliminary round of the event. One week later she competed at the Cory Pickos Superstars tournament and set two more pending trick records, one equaling her Junior U.S. score the other surpassing her record with a 9,150 point total. Lang will be representing the U.S. Junior Water Ski Team next February when she competes at the Junior Worlds in Mulwaia, Australia.
