Learn From One of the Best — We Dissect Chris Rossi's Technique

Rossi’s onside pull.

Another vantage point on Rossi’s attack into the first wake. Again, note his brilliant alignment and balance on the ski.

Rossi’s edge-change initiation typically starts somewhere from directly behind the boat to the second wake. The more progressively he increases his acceleration out of the turn and into the first wake, the easier it is for him to release the ski and create space before the turn.

This is the crucial part of the edge change. The more you can resist the inward pull of the boat by keeping your elbows close to your body and maintaining a vertical axis with your torso, the freer you will be in the turn.
