Ever since someone first sliced through the water on a single board, the beauty of that action has captivated us. Spray, liquid wall, rooster tail, water giant, swerve spurt, h20 mountain — call it what you will. Carving a big spray in the open water is the number one reason why you learned to slalom; there’s no denying it. Big spray is king. In celebration of all past and present big-spray skiers and wannabes world-wide, we hosted the liquid wall challenge at a private lake in east orlando. The challenge was simple: each competitor would choose a boat speed and line length and be given four chances to propel his or her spray to the highest mark on a tape measure hanging from a boom lift above the water. The skier with the biggest spray would take all.
