Minnesota native Heath Voss was more familiar with the surreal beauty of Lake Pow- ell than anyone else in the group. “I grew up skiing out there, so when Marcus first started talking about this trip, I guaranteed him I’d be involved,” Voss says. He came equipped with something the other skiers hadn’t counted on: a portable course. “Marcus and Brian were looking for an escape from the slalom course, but I showed up and threw one in anyway. To me, it’s just another facet to the whole thing. We would barefoot, air chair, free-ski, even just cruise the lake. No matter what was going on, everyone just had fun; it was the perfect group of people to put together for the week,” Voss says.
