GeenaInstead of heading to Florida to ski during the winter season, European pro skiers Freddie Winter, Carlo Allais, and Sasha Descuns traded turns in La Renuion for an early season tournament. La Reunion is a beautiful French Island in the Indian Ocean, located east of Madagascar, Africa.
Here’s what Winter had to say about his experience in La Reunion:
“While we did not know what to expect having never been there before, we were not disappointed. The ski school is located on the northwest side of the island on a long, river-like lake, and it’s a beautiful place to ski with views out to sea. The bridge that runs directly over the slalom course also gives some particularly amazing views of the skiing below. With temperatures in the mid 20s [Celcius] it was a welcome change to be able to ski in shorts instead of the increasingly thick wetsuits back home. We recommend La Renuion to anyone who wants to go somewhere a little exotic, and off the beaten track while still skiing at a top- class location.”
