Q: I seem to continually get pulled out of position – my hips drop behind me between the wakes – often sending me onto my face at the second wake. I feel like my ski's on edge. So what's happening?

A: First, you might be turning too sharply. A tight hook turn loads the rope with so much tension that you can only hold your body position for a moment before getting pulled forward. Try for a round and smooth turn.
Second, even if you have a nice round turn, you might not be finishing with your hips and handle close enough together. You have to close the gap before you get to the wakes. Bring your elbows into your vest. This will lock your hands next to your center of gravity.
