Wade on Gates:"Controlled Aggression"

There's not a slalom skier alive who can't learn something from watching Wade Cox. Even Wade can learn from seeing himself.

We asked Wade to look at these photos and write on them what he saw. Immediately, Wade liked the fact that he was pulling out with aggression.

“Don't just sneak out,” he says, “because a good, aggressive pull-out gives you a longer glide, which in turn creates a bigger window when you can start your pull.”

He also liked seeing that during the pull he had his arms down, his hips up, and the handle almost as if it was attached to his body.

Overall, he saw what he called “controlled aggression,” and said he tries to ski as aggressively as he can without losing control.
