Movin' Trees

Is this doing you any good? Are you truly simulating your skiing? What’s the use of leaning against the handle if you are not modeling a similar position to the one you hold behind the boat? WSM asked Kris LaPoint to put himself into the same position that he holds in his offside lean moving through the second wake. Besides the intensity, we give him an A+. His head, shoulders and handle are all in a very similar position. To do a quick check on yourself, take a video of your dry-land and skiing leverage positions to compare the similarities or differences. If you are practicing a poor leverage position in either photo, you’ll have an idea what to work on. Remember, practice doesn’t make perfect, rather perfect practice makes perfect.
