Question:

I'm looking for tips on deep-water starts with double boots. I have no problem with one leg out, I pop up like a cork. But with both legs in, I drag and drag. Any advice?

Answer:

Well, mate, it sounds like you're getting sick of dredging the lake. The trick to the double-boot deep-water start is to sit in the water in as compact a position as possible, knees all the way to the chest, keeping the head up and arms straight. When the boat starts to go, allow your shoulders and hips to start rolling over the top of your ankles. Obviously, you need to control this so you don't go out the front. As this is happening, count to five before you attempt to stand up, allowing the boat enough time to get up to speed. This should make life a lot easier for you, buddy. Good luck!
