My WaterSki Coach Level 5

Congratulations, you are an Shortline Skier!

*Keep checking back for updated tips, advice, and articles, plus a host of video instruction designed to keep you moving toward the next level.

What it looks like:
• You're now running the 28-off pass and can ski at 32 off or better at fast speeds (32 to 36 mph).
• You're tweaking your body position as you cross the wake for optimal efficiency.

What you're working on:

• Learning the principles of fin adjustments and ski setups.
• Skiing consistently at shortened line lengths.

What you should do next:

• Test new bindings and skis and commit yourself to understanding the physics of slalom skiing.
• Work with an experienced coach or pro skier to develop a more rigorous training schedule that involves off-the-water workouts and skiing more often.

Best Tip: Train like an athlete.
Two things are really important here. First, you must train like an athlete: Kick the donuts out of the diet and shed a couple of pounds. Secondly, although you are learning to tweak your fin and setup, remember that your technique could always use a little tweaking to move toward a higher degree of execution. –Seth Stisher
