In this water ski how to, we show you how to set your fin for more power in your turns. If you are happy with your overall line through the course but you’re just looking for a more aggressive turn, a few small tweaks to your fin setup can produce great results. Remember: Make only small adjustments, a few thousandths of an inch at a time.
Heelside (onside)
Less depth: More slide at the finish of the turn.
Fin forward: Sharper, tighter turn radius.
Toeside (offside)
Fin back: More slide at finish of the turn.
More length: Sharper, tighter turn radius.

After experimenting with different fin settings I found two ways of achieving more agressive turns.
1- Leave the fin length & depth at the factory setting and only add tip depth and decrease tail depth to achieve more aggressive onside and offside turns, plus it makes the ski turn more symmetrically . If you want added turning agresiveness decrease fin depth at the expense of losing angle.
2- Decrease overall fin depth.
Length and depth don't operate independently.
All a fin does is control tail slide and how far the tail drops when stomped on (at the end of the turn).
You need fin for your offside turn and pull - this is what supports you.
You don't need nearly as much fin for your onside. So you just have to find the right balance between the two turns/pulls
