U.S. Pan American Games Water Ski Team Selected As Team Of The Year
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – USA Water Ski named Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.) and Rhoni Barton (Oviedo, Fla.) its 1999 Male and Female Athletes of the Year and the U.S. Pan American Games Water Ski Team its Team of the Year.
The athletes and team were selected by USA Water Ski's Awards Committee and will now be considered for the United States Olympic Committee's (USOC) prestigious SportsMan, SportsWoman and Sports Team of the Year awards. The USOC SportsMan and SportsWoman awards have been presented annually to the top overall male and female athletes within the USOC member organizations since 1974. In 1996, a team category was added to the USOC awards to recognize the outstanding achievements of team members who might not have been eligible on their own for other awards.
