WATERSKI MagazineOver the winter, most riders took time off to clear their heads. Some of the lucky ones found the time and cash to get away for some snowboarding, surfing and motocross. But along with the fun, a number of pro riders actually had to work during the off months.
With the popularity of wakeboard boats spreading, some of the top pros have been busier than usual at boat shows all across the country. You may have even run into someone like Cobe Mikacich, Gregg Necrason, Tina Bessinger, Shaun Murray and Jeff Heer are just a few who've been making the circuit.
Riders who weren't traveling were most likely in their backyards building huge kickers and sliders for riding around home. The contraptions now being built far exceed anything that has ever been seen and should push the limits of wakeboarding expression to new levels. A exciting trend is the combination of a slider or kicker with a wake skate. Look for the latest designs and moves in upcoming wakeboarding videos.
