WATERSKI MagazineWhen you get entries like this, they're hard to turn down. Reader Ron Krum of La Mesa, California, says: “I purchased the Ford Bronco from the original owner in January 1996 with the full intent of customizing it for this contest.”
Even without the custom moonbeam-and-palm paint scheme designed by Krum (with the matching color palette supplied by Malibu Boats), this classic combo gets high marks. The '93 Malibu Euro f3 was purchased from Riverside's Paradise Ski and Marine in 1994, complete with MerCruiser 350 Magnum, four-speaker stereo, air lumbar and high-mount rear mirror. The '72 Bronco is the last of its kind, built before smog control. Krum added a 3-inch lift with 32-inch tires and rims to match, which keeps the Bronco riding high and looking sharp. Other goodies include a convertible soft top, 100-watt stereo CD, Class 3 hitch and a custom-built Per Runner front bumper.
“I still have many things planned for this combo, all in good time,” says Krum. “But for now there isn't a place I go without getting second looks and guys drooling over these two discontinued classics.”
