Director of Marketing Leaves OBrien

Bruce Robson, Director of Marketing at O'Brien will be leaving the company as of Dec. 3rd and will head back to his homeland in Australia. Maybe you've seen him announcing at a Pro Tour stop and if you've ever met Bruce, you know him as a character not easily forgotten.

Bruce said, “To the people I have had the good fortune to work and play with over the last 9 years I've been with O'Brien, thanks for everything. To my opposition, hey it was just business, sorry! To my friends, I love you all, please don't think I'm leaving you, I just need to feel the love in all aspects of my life again. It's not about the weather, it's not about travel and it's not about the industry or the sport, I just can't play well with others right now.”

Bruce hasn't commented on his future plans and I'm sure there are many of us in the industry that hope he stays within it. Aussies like Bruce are good for the sport and are just plain fun to have around. The first time I met this guy, we ended up flamboyantly cruising around Orlando with Dana Preble in his rented Mustang convertible blaring “Ultra Lounge” tunes as if we were freshly released from the state penitentiary. Good times. Anyway, good luck to you, Bruce and best wishes for whatever comes your way in 2000.
