Brothers Aaron and Jeff Perry are skiers in true California style: They not only want to look good on the water, they want to look good getting there too. With their restored '71 Chevy half-ton and '90 Supra Comp TS6m, they have no problem with either.
Weekend trips to the Sacramento Delta and Lake Tulloch are only a few hours away from the Perrys' Fremont home, but there certainly isn't a shortage of gawkers on northbound I-5. While the Chevy has been treated to a $4,500 neon-blue paint job, the Comp trailer had an axle added and was lowered to match the height of the truck. Inside both tower and towee are sets of 400-watt Sony CD players. Aaron, a machinist, added signature finishing touches with a hand-made extended pylon and barefoot boom.
Even though the highway trips are short, the looks the Perry boys get are long – and low.
