PerfectPass

So it’s 7:30 am at a WaterSki magazine photo shoot and slalom legend Kris LaPoint needs a pull behind his new Infinity with a rope length of 41 off. I get nominated for the task. The combination of myself in an unfamiliar boat, and this being the first time I had ever pulled Kriswell, let’s just say I was feeling a bit uneasy about the whole scenario.
Kris says, “We’ll use PerfectPass. Have you used it before?” I hadn’t and figured that this new instrument would only be the third variable to help this photo shoot go down the tubes.
I was taught how to use PerfectPass with all of a two sentence explanation, “Press ‘ON’ and accelerate until you here the beep. Then let go of the throttle.” And off we went.
After the beep sounded, Kris managed to shred glass with deep turn after deep turn. After our first pass, I looked at him for input and got nothing but the universal “OK” sign from him. Let’s just say I was feeling more than stoked at this moment.
One cool thing about PerfectPass is that no matter what type of skiing I might be doing, anybody can pull me and I know that speed variation will not be an issue. Also, if you paid any attention at all to the Pro Tour this year, you heard about all the records that were shattered in each event. Was this a direct result of PerfectPass? You be the judge.
