The Malibu Response Series is approved to pull professional athletes in all five different USA Water Ski-sanctioned water sports.

    (Merced, CA) – Malibu Boats would probably design 5 different tournament ski boats to pull 5 different events, if that is what it took to conger up the best performance possible in each competition. As design would have it, the Response Series runs wild in a number of tournament level situations. To reward this diverse efficiency USA Water Ski granted the 2002 Malibu Response not one but five professional tournament towboat certifications in trick, slalom, jump, barefoot and ski fly this year.

    As the first towboat to achieve five-event certification, the 2002 Malibu Response Series offers five distinct sides to its personality, all of which demand tournament participation. The Response LX unleashes sport-specific power in slalom, trick and jump while the Response Barefooter throws the world's best back on their heels. Finally, the Response SS rounds out the five water sport faces of the Response Series with arm stretching pull for soaring ski flyers.

    ''We designed the Response to be the best professional level ski boat in the industry,'' explains Dan Gasper, Director of Malibu's Research and Development Center. ''Sound design principles and exhaustive testing went into to every nook and cranny of this boat. So when the industry began to demand better barefoot and ski fly performances we looked at the Response and squinted our eyes. After more testing we began to see the 2002 Barefooter and Response SS.''

    For the 7th consecutive year, in the strictest of testing scenarios, the Response LX pulled athletes in slalom, trick and jump to earn USA Water Ski's three-event approved status. Evaluated on the results of 11 different tests, this year the Response LX motored away with yet another 3-event certification.

    New for 2002, the Malibu Response Barefooter jumped into the extreme world of ski-less competition with both feet to earn American Barefoot Club (ABC) Approved Tournament Towboat Certification. A sport division of USA Water Ski, ABC gathered world-class Barefooting competitors to put the best towboats in the world to the test. The result was a 4th USA Water Ski approval for the Malibu Response Series in 2002.

    Tournament approval number five came during the ski fly boat tests where the Response SS was introduced. Malibu's red, white and blue speed demon slung the world's best ski fliers monstrous distances with ease. USA Water Ski test officials had no other choice but to pound their stamp of approval on another version of the Malibu Response.
