
MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY AT THE MASTERS WATERSKI
TOURNAMENT™
PINE MOUNTAIN, GA (4/2/03) - To show appreciation to all
military personnel, The Gardens at Callaway and the Chevy Trucks
44th Masters Waterski & Wakeboard Tournament Presented by GM
Vortec Engines will host Military Appreciation Day Friday, May
23, 2003.
Upon presentation of a valid military identification card,
admission on Friday to the Gardens and Masters will be free of
charge for all military, including active duty, reserve, National
Guard, retiree and dependents. Military also will qualify for
discounted tournament admission on Saturday and Sunday. Adult
tickets will be $9 per day; children (6-12) $6 per day and children
five and under will be admitted free. Adult pavilion passes
will be $25 per day.
This will be an exciting day as the premiere international water
ski tournament takes place on Robin Lake and kicks off Summer at
Callaway.
Guests can watch the action while sun bathing on the beach
splashing about in Robin Lake’s swimming area while the
competitors fly by. Robin Lake Beach’s miniature
train, paddleboats, miniature golf, shuffleboard and more also will
be available for young and old alike.
For those who would rather explore the Gardens, guests can visit
the Birds of Prey Show (10:30 a.m. EST, 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.);
The Crawlaseum, A Live Bug Exhibit; David Rogers’ Big Bugs;
Day Butterfly Center; Pioneer Log Cabin; Mr. Cason’s
Vegetable Garden; walking trails and more. As an alternative
to driving, visitors can rent bikes or bring their own to visit all
of these attractions via the 10-mile Discovery Bicycle Trail.
Families can also enjoy the Gardens at no cost every Monday
through November 17, 2003. Marvelous Mondays gives free
admission to up to five paying guests who enter the Gardens on a
Monday in a vehicle occupying a child five or younger.
