46th Masters Wakeboard Criteria Announced

Orlando, FL  Jan. 3, 2005 —The Masters Wakeboard Committee has released the wakeboarding invitations criteria and list of invitees for the 46th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament to be held at Callaway in Pine Mountain, Georgia, over Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29, 2005.
    
The Masters is the worlds oldest, most prestigious, water ski and wakeboard tournament.  The Masters Wakeboard Committee met to discuss the invitation criteria for the 2005 event, due to the ever-changing environment of professional watersports, and has arrived at a complete list of criteria and invitees to ensure that the world's very best wakeboarders are invited to the 46th Masters.

The Masters Wakeboard Tournament is an invitational tournament. As such, invitations are issued at the sole discretion of the Masters Wakeboard Committee. Important changes to the format and requirements are noted below:
   
Changes require an RSVP/entry and fee due by April 15. A late fee will be applicable to entry fees received after April 15th. If entry and fee have not been received by April 30th, the invitation is rescinded.
   
All competitors are required to attend the mandatory Athletes Meeting unless a legitimate excuse is provided prior to the meeting time by contacting the tournament director, chief judge or Masters coordinator. Failure to attend the mandatory meeting will result in disqualification.
   
The Men Wakeboard Tournament will change, with a field of 16 invitees to a 4-round tournament beginning with a head-to-head elimination round on Friday immediately following the preliminary round of the Junior Masters. A second head-to-head round of eliminations will be held on Saturday with semi-final and final rounds on Sunday, all in the head-to-head format.
   
Check-in for all Men Wakeboarders will be required on Thursday evening.

The Junior Masters Wakeboard tournament will have a field of eight of the world's best junior competitors and will run off the same format as in previous years. Junior Masters Wakeboard criteria and invitees are:
