The Masters Steering Committee has released the water ski invitation criteria for the 46th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament to be held at Callaway in Pine Mountain, Georgia, over Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29, 2005.
The Masters is the worlds oldest, most prestigious, water ski and wakeboard tournament. The Masters Committee meets to discuss the invitation criteria for the next year's event, due to the ever-changing environment of professional watersports, and has arrived at a complete list of criteria to ensure that the world's very best athletes are invited to the 46th Masters. In 2005 the Women will again have the traditional Jump event rather than Ski Fly, as was used for several years.

The following changes were also established for the 46th Masters Water Ski Tournament: Re #4 and #5 above, if the field is less than eight, it will be filled from the Elite Ranking List.
If a competitor, who was qualified to compete in the previous year's Masters misses competing during the 2004 qualifying season due to having suffered a broken bone, undergone surgery, or has taken maternity leave, can show that they have come back to a comparable level of competition, or better than before their inability to compete occurred, then the Committee may consider them for invitation to the upcoming Masters.
Changes to the invitation letter and Information Sheet will be modified to require an RSVP/Entry and Fee due by April 15. A late fee will be applicable to entry fees received after April 15th. If entry and fee have not been received by April 30th, the invitation is rescinded.
It has been decided that there will be NO PRACTICE at the 2005 Masters.
