WWSP Announces 2005 Malibu Open

World WaterSki Pros (WWSP), is proud to announce that it has joined with Malibu Boats to showcase the 2005 Malibu Open Water Ski Championships June 24-26, 2005 on Lake Lynn Louise in the community of Dousman, Wisconsin – approximately 33 miles west of Milwaukee. World class professional male and female athletes will compete for podium spots in slalom, trick and jump events. Winners will share more than $85,000.00 in prize money.

This site is located in the Midwest region, home to more than 100 water ski and show ski clubs. The lake was built by one of the leading ranked amateur water skiers, Dr. Jim Michaels, and is ranked among the top five private ski lakes in the world. The water conditions are expected to be optimal to enable the athletes to produce outstanding performances, and compete for world records. The site is an easy drive from many of the Midwest cities including Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago, which means the event will be able to draw from more than 7 million people.

Of the event, Michaels said, “This event allows all of the water ski enthusiasts to perform on a lake facility special built for water skiing.  This is a life long dream of mine. The combination of Malibu Boats and WWSP together with this lake makes for a record setting weekend of activities.”

Selected amateur events will be featured in addition to the professional events.
