The Prestigious 50th Masters Water Ski and Wakeboard Tournament Commences

Pine Mountain, GA (May 23, 2009) – The 50th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® kicked off today at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA in the face of challenging weather conditions.

Despite this trying environment, Nautique skier Whitney McClintock took the lead in the Women's Slalom Semi Finals with a score of 4@38-off. McClintock also performed well in the Women's Tricks Semi Finals today; she currently holds the second position. Nautique athlete Clementine Lucine performed strong in the Women's Tricks Semi Finals with 7910 points, thus taking the lead in this event.

In other events, Chris Rossi took the lead in Men's Slalom, Nicolas Le Forestier received top marks in Men's Tricks, Dallas Friday took the lead in Women's Wakeboard, Rusty Malinoski received top marks in Men's Wakeboard, June Fladborg took the lead in Women's Jump and Freddy Krueger took the lead in Men's Jump.

Additionally, Nautique riders performed strong in the Men's Wakeboard Semi Finals; Aaron Rathy and Danny Harf took second and third respectively in Heat # 1; J.D. Webb and Shaun Murray took second and fourth respectively in Heat # 2.

The Opening Ceremonies of the 50th Masters Finals will begin tomorrow at 9:30 am with the Parade of Champions and the Red Bull Extreme Jump Team followed by the 50th Masters Finals at 10:00 am.
