The best men's slalom skiers and jumpers in the world arrived at Placid Waters in Allendale, Michigan to compete in the inaugural Global Invitation for $30,000. Swirling wind conditions were a challenge for some skiers, but it was two world-record holders that rose to the occasion to separate themselves from the field. In men's slalom, Chris Parrish easily ran his way down the line with a top score of 5 at 41 off. “I had the start to run it,” says Parrish. “Things have been going really well in practice so I'm pumped to ski in the finals.” Masters champion Will Asher had the second best score with 3 at 41 off, and Jamie Beauchesne was close behind with 1 ½  at 41 off.

In men's jump, Freddy Krueger only needed his first jump over the ramp to distance him from the field by 14 feet with a 224-footer. Jason Seels was second with a 210-foot leap, although he paid the price on his next attempt with a hard stack out the front.

“We are extremely excited to have the best of the best water skiers and wakeboarders from around the world in west Michigan for the inaugural Global Invitational,” said Mike Broadwell, Event Organizer.
