ORLANDO, FLA – This summer, a group of Nautique employees traveled internationally for four days to spend time helping several impoverished families in Guatemala.
About 45 minutes outside of Guatemala City, Nautique employees served a community whose homes were built on abandoned railroad tracks, providing materials and manual labor to build bunk beds from scratch. Guests at the community’s local Sunday church service, the team also made and distributed gift bags for 150 of the community’s children.
This year’s trip to Guatemala follows three other international service trips the company’s employees have taken since 2007. On previous trips they traveled twice to Mexico to build homes for needy families, and once to Nicaragua to serve in a shelter for homeless teenage mothers and their children.
“Serving in Guatemala with the Nautique team was an incredible experience,” said Nautique’s Board Chairman, Ken Meloon. “I am very proud of the service culture that has developed at the company my grandfather founded!”
“Guatemala was an amazing experience for everyone and this trip demonstrates the incredible kindness and service culture of our Nautique employees,” stated Nautique President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “I am thankful to be a part of a team that is not only committed to building the world’s best boats, but also committed to helping those less fortunate,” he added.
