3 Skiers Win Overall Titles On National Day 4

Three skiers won national overall titles on day four of the 68th annual GOODE Water Ski National Championships continued at Waters Edge in Wilmington, Illinois.

Skiers who earned overall titles on the fourth day of the 2010 Water Ski Nationals include Jenna Morgan (Odessa, Florida), Girls 2; Garrett Stallings (Rossville, Tennessee), Boys 1; and Taylor Garcia (Rancho Palos, California), Boys 2.

Day 4 Water Ski Nationals Champions

Girls 2 Slalom: Samantha Dumala (Wellington, Florida), 2 buoys at 35 feet off
Girls 2 Overall: Jenna Morgan (Odessa, Florida), 3,275.6 points
Boys 3 Slalom: K.C. Wilson (Winter Springs, Florida), 3 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off
Boys 3 Tricks: Haywood McDonald (Fayetteville, North Carolina), 6,590 points
Boys 1 Tricks and Overall: Garrett Stallings (Rossville, Tennessee), 3,010 points/2,571.9 points
Girls 3 Tricks: Erika Lang (Gilbert, Ariz.), 6,420 points
Boys 2 Jumping and Overall: Taylor Garcia (Rancho Palos, California), 118 feet/3,495.7 points.

Nearly 800 of the nation’s top water ski athletes — ages 3 through 85 — from across the United States are competing for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall in multiple age divisions and two Open divisions. Advancement to the national championships is earned through placement on the national rankings’ list for respective divisions. The world’s largest three-event water ski tournament culminates on August 14.
