Bennett, Selsor Win Open Overall Titles

Storm Selsor and Danyelle Bennett won overall titles in the Open Men and Open Women divisions during day six of the GOODE Water Ski National Championships continued at Waters Edge in Wilmington, Illinois.

Brenda Baldwin (Windermere, Florida) won the Women 3 overall title, and Connie Morris won the (San Diego, California) won the Women 4 overall title.

Russell Gay won the Open Men tricks title with 10,410 points while Alex Laurentano won the open women’s jump title with a leap of 169 feet.

Women 4 Slalom: Alison Poulsen (Ketchum, Idaho), 5 buoys at 32 feet off
Men 1 Slalom: Noah Vieke (Indianapolis, Ind.), 4-1/2 buoys at 38 feet off
Men 7 Tricks: Stan Switzer (Mulberry, Fla.), 3,250 points
Men 8 Tricks: Jerry Hosner (Fenton, Mich.), 2,170 points
Men 9 Tricks: Mike Henley (Lake Worth, Fla.), 810 points
Men 10 Tricks: Bill Schouten (Jacksons Gap, Ala.), 1,020 points

Nearly 800 of the nation’s top water ski athletes — ages 3 through 85 — from across the United States are competing for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall in multiple age divisions and two Open divisions. Advancement to the national championships is earned through placement on the national rankings’ list for respective divisions. The world’s largest three-event water ski tournament culminates on August 14.
