Correct Craft announced today that its President/CEO Bill Yeargin has been appointed by the acting U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the Manufacturing Council.
The Manufacturing Council, consisting of twenty-six private sector industry leaders, is scheduled to meet with the U.S. Secretary of Commerce three times a year and serve as the principal private sector advisory committee to the Secretary regarding the manufacturing sector. The Council’s mission includes advising the U.S. Secretary of Commerce on government policies and programs that affect United States manufacturing and providing a forum for discussing and proposing solutions to industry-related problems.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank stated “The Council has an important role to play in shaping the direction of our nation’s manufacturing strategy and supporting American businesses and workers.”
After learning of the appointment Bill Yeargin stated “I am truly honored to be asked to join the Manufacturing Council and look forward to serving the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. My hope is that I will be able to serve constructively and that I will be a valuable source of information and insight to the Secretary that will help both U.S. businesses and workers.”
