lukeCentral Florida, as most skiers know, is the epicenter of the professional water-ski world. An unusually cold (comparatively speaking, of course) and windy winter and early spring, however, left many local skiers uninspired and under-trained. So when WATERSKI approached Whitney and Jason McClintock, Drew Ross, Trent Finlayson and Thomas Degasperi with the lure of sunny South Florida’s warmer, glassier waters, needless to say, they were intrigued. Throw in the promise of some intercoastal shredding along the famous South Beach in Miami and the accompanying nightlife that’s guaranteed to follow and all five were eagerly packing their skis, board shorts and best club wear in anticipation of the action promised. The resulting adventure was packed with some heavy shortline turns and impressive après-ski antics as the crew hit up three sites, two cities and more than 20 miles of North Atlantic intercoastal in less than 72 hours.
