lukeCheck out all the action from the 2010 Malibu Open, which went down August 6-7 at Veterans Park in downtown Milwaukee. Will Asher, April Coble Eller and Ryan Dodd all earned titles at the pro water ski event.
In the semifinals of the open men’s slalom event, former and current world record holders Jamie Beauchesne and Chris Parrish squared off while Will Asher faced fellow Malibu Boats teammate Thomas Degasperi. Beauchesne ran 2.5 buoys at 41 off to sneak past Parrish by half a buoy, and Asher ran all six buoys at 41 off to get past Degasperi. Asher won the head-to-head final with a run of 1 buoy at 41 off.
In the open women’s slalom final, April Coble Eller beat out Regina Jaquess by a quarter buoy, running 1.25 buoys at 39 off to win the event.
In the open men’s jump final, Ryan Dodd leaped 67.8 meters to beat out Zack Worden, who finished second with a 67.4-meter jump. Damien Sharman came in third with a finals jump of 66.7 meters.

What happened in the men's final. Jamie appeared to run 39 off and then Will apparently had a technical issue on his run. Next thing you know, Jamie doesn't ski again and Will runs 1 off at 41 to take the title. Why didn't Jamie get a 41 off run?
well jamie had thought he had won and so he chugged a beer and celebrated. Then Willy got his rerun and be Jamie. So Jamie said no he didnt want to take it because he had already won and chugged a beer. It was actually funny, apparently on the award stands Jamie was chugging beers when he got his medals. I just think he was really mad, but he knew he couldnt do anything about it, so he decided to make the best of it! : ) hope all of that helps, its just what i heard

How can the boat run one ball run too fast with zero off? Impossible, how could they even allow a do-over????? Jamie won fairly and Will got a free muligan and missed his chance. Jamie could have easily got one ball at 41. I think BS politics involved.
