lukeCheck out all the action from the 2010 Malibu Open, which went down August 6-7 at Veterans Park in downtown Milwaukee. Will Asher, April Coble Eller and Ryan Dodd all earned titles at the pro water ski event.
In the semifinals of the open men’s slalom event, former and current world record holders Jamie Beauchesne and Chris Parrish squared off while Will Asher faced fellow Malibu Boats teammate Thomas Degasperi. Beauchesne ran 2.5 buoys at 41 off to sneak past Parrish by half a buoy, and Asher ran all six buoys at 41 off to get past Degasperi. Asher won the head-to-head final with a run of 1 buoy at 41 off.
In the open women’s slalom final, April Coble Eller beat out Regina Jaquess by a quarter buoy, running 1.25 buoys at 39 off to win the event.
In the open men’s jump final, Ryan Dodd leaped 67.8 meters to beat out Zack Worden, who finished second with a 67.4-meter jump. Damien Sharman came in third with a finals jump of 66.7 meters.
