WSM: Who is this boat best suited for?
Moomba: It?s aimed at a family who wants the power and handling of a V-drive ski boat but the amenities of a recreational runabout. It?s got a true walk-though in both the front as well as a walk-through in the back end of the boat, which is totally new to the ski industry. Some people don?t like to climb over the stern or upholstery, so the walk-through provides easy access to the platform via a small channel. For people who might buy a runabout or deck boat and weren?t sure they could afford a boat with true ski and wakeboard performance, now they can. It has a ski boat bottom and runabout-type deck, and we?re the first in the industry to combine these features.
How is this unique configuration better?
This boat is creating a class of its own. We?re taking market share from runabouts. People want a boat with a little more power and a little better speed-holding ability. This crosses the bridge between a runabout and a ski boat. It?s got a runabout deck, ski boat handling, a really good wakeboard wake ? believe it or not ? and it?s got a good recreational slalom wake. It?s got all the things a family would need and gives them the ability to ski all day then take 10 people on the lake for dinner ? it?s got a lot of room.
What are the outstanding features?
The roominess. This boat is very wide ? 95? ? and very long ? 22?, not including the platform. There?s a lot of space inside the boat. When you open up the four storage lockers in this boat you have massive amounts of room. There is a deep floor storage locker as well as storage along the whole front end, so it has things a traditional ski boat doesn?t have while still having a ski boat feel when you drive. So storage and roominess as well as the walk-through are most outstanding. Construction is another strong point for us. This hull is 100-percent composite construction and has a lifetime warranty.

Slalom
For the recreational skiing family, the Kamberra will satisfy your skiing needs as well as your quality and value requirements. The wakes are fairly big and hard, and since it acquires the traditional V-drive tracking ability you?ll probably want to stay out of the slalom course and enjoy open-water skiing.
Wakeboard
The good handling and driving characteristics combined with lots of room for passengers make this a fun boat for advanced-level riding. True high performance wakeboarding in the Kamberra is somewhat limited by the asymmetrical deck layout because it is tough to put weight in the back. Load it up with some friends and the wakes are sizeable, smooth and solid.
Chill Factor
Wrap-around seating configuration and the convenient walk-through to the swim platform allows plenty of room for the family and guests. Driver?s seat is comfortable, with attention being paid to tall drivers offering great legroom. With great storage areas throughout the boat, you?ll have tons of room for equipment and boating essentials and more space in the cockpit for lounging.
Summary
This is one of the most unique boats of the year. Its innovative rear walk-through gives passengers deck boat-like access to the rear platform, which is great if you are in and out of the water frequently. Of course, this layout comes at the expense of a rear sun deck and some rear storage, but those losses are made up for in the huge bow. With its good skiability and solid V-drive wakes for riding, the Kamberra?s layout gives up so little and gains so much it should have other manufacturers asking, ?Why didn?t we think of that??
